Are we seeing the last lions?

According to the article "Are we seeing the last lions?", lions, tigers, and leopards are facing many threats for survival. I believe that without them there will be a change in their food chain. Without them another primary consumer will have to show up or smaller animals will start to overpopulate. I agree that extinction of lions would cause many problems. "Just 50 years ago there were 450,000; today there are possibly as few as 20,000." (Are we seeing the last lions?). I think we sould form an organization to help the big cat population stay up. The article cites authority by quoting the findings of Beverly and Dereck Joubert to convince us that we need to save the big cats.

“The Internet is a worldwide network of thousands of computers and computer networks. It is a public, voluntary, and cooperative effort between the connected institutions and is not owned or operated by any single organization” (“Fascinating facts about the invention of the Internet”). I believe that the internet is one of the best inventions made. Computers are connected to each other by a network known as gateway. The internet is the most important invention of all time due to the fact that people are connected, can learn about anything, and there are many jobs that use the internet.

To begin, the internet has helped families, friends, and has even made a new way to meet people all over the world. Families can now be far away from each other and still be connected. Recently a website has made it possible for people to view each other while talking. There are many sites that will allow you to meet new people by your similarities you have with one another. Today there are “360,985,492” users in the world (“Internetworldstats”). There is now even a way to teach or go to college from your own home. There is no limit to the connectivity that the internet brings to the world.

The second reason the internet is the greatest invention ever is because people can learn new things in there own home. Going to college can be very expensive but with the internet you can save money for room. There are people that also teach classes from other states or countries. There are many advantages of using the internet. You can find information on whatever one desires.

 

The final reason why the internet is the best invention is that many jobs need them to operate. Without the internet, many things would not be possible or much harder to accomplish. Some big business that would not exist without the internet is eBay, and netflix. There are also small businesses that receive more visibility by selling their product to reach more consumers to earn more money.

On the other hand, it might be argued that the internet is not useful because it is full of predators. This is such an unfounded argument because there are so many predators. Predators can use information they get of the internet to find people. They can also steal identities form people.

Over all, I believe without the internet the world would be a whole different place. There is so many people that benefit from it. Things would be much harder to produce. All of the products would be manually made and it would be hard to have interchangeable parts.
